Africa LIVE! is where Charlotte's African community shows up. Live performances, real food, and the energy that only happens when our people are in the room.
Our Story
Africa LIVE! started with one idea: give Charlotte's African community a stage worthy of the culture.
Founder Washington Kofi built Africa LIVE! from the ground up, turning a single night of music into a recurring celebration that brings our people together. Through his work with Kofi Creative Group, he has grown the event across six editions, each one bigger and more intentional than the last.
What began as a way to keep West African sounds alive in the diaspora has become a platform for artists, vendors, and community leaders. With the Liberia Honors edition, Africa LIVE! added something new: a ceremony to recognize the people who keep the culture going.
The mission stays the same. Honor the culture, support the artists, and give our community a night that feels like back home.
